2-Headed Shark Attack

"Two heads is twice as many teeth!"

release year: 2012
genre: shark horror/action/comedy
viewing setting: home DVD, 8/27/21

synopsis: A bunch of college students end up on and around a remote island, menaced by a two-headed shark.

impressions: A two-headed shark? How? Why? Sadly, we may never know. This was cheesy but was made well enough that it was watchable and evoked many laughs. The shark looked decent, although (like all sharks in Asylum films) it not only roared underwater but also had the ability to leap entirely OUT of the water for aerial and land-based attacks. There was also the same problem all these movies have: people walking in knee-deep water can be attacked and eaten by gigantic sharks in much deeper water due to the mystical depth inconsistency factor. And some other factors found here: an abundance of good-looking humans on the menu, blood/nudity/profanity (meaning it's not a made-for-TV movie), shark-caused earthquakes, the line "You is a bitch!", the shark joining the boat race, the shark playing with one victim as if was a baby seal to be batted about, people jumping overboard for no reason, lots of aimless running around, a random tsunami, an idiotic final plan to kill the shark, a boat that explodes when bitten, characters swimming back to an island that had already sunk. My final word here: the shark having two heads means that if two people are standing side by side near the water, they can both be eaten simultaneously (a concept which, fortunately, scales up as the number of heads increase, as will be seen in future movies in this series.)

confirmed shark kills: 26

acting: Brooke Hogan is the main heroine, and does a decent job. Carmen Electra is here to fill a swimsuit, before she fills the shark's belly. Charlie O'Connell (who looks like a lesser Aaron Eckhart) is the professor responsible for the doomed field trip.

final word: Good, entertaining bad shark movie.
