30 For 30: Nature Boy
release year: 2017
genre: documentary
viewing setting: home streaming 7/2/24
synopsis: This documentary follows the life, career, and follies of wrestling legend Ric Flair.
impressions: I'll be honest: I'm surprised that Flair admitted as much as he did. This is a guy who was on the road and in the ring most days in his life, and enjoyed that life more than any sort of family life at home. I'm not judging him, just pointing this out (and he said it himself multiple times.) Anyhow, this is a great and thorough profile of his life and career, which (as you likely know if you're reading this) saw him become one of the most flamboyant and popular wrestlers of all time. If you ever wanted to know the toll that takes on someone, this is your chance.
acting: n/a, but all of the interviews were well done and together they were a powerful narrative
final word: Great wrestling documentary focusing on one of the all-time greats.
