Ancient Aliens season 11

release year: 2016
genre: TV documentary (15 episodes)
viewing setting: home streaming 2/14-27/23

synopsis: Aliens might have been involved in our world's history, as can be seen if you look at all the various potential evidence.

impressions: After a few months off, we're back into this show. As before, its creators have taken a simple concept (aliens visiting Earth in the past) and devised a seemingly-endless number of episodes tying that idea to damn near everything they could think of. This eleventh season had the following topics::
episode 1: dealt with the possible existence of pyramids etc beneath the Antarctic ice
episode 2: dealt with the possibility of life on Mars, and our need to go back there
episode 3: dealt with transhumanism, augmentation of our bodies, and the possibility of slowing or reversing aging
episode 4: dealt with the most recent discoveries and findings that could support some theories about aliens and their involvement in our world
episode 5: dealt with possible extraterrestiral involvement in some of the great minds of our time, and their accomplishments
episode 6: dealt with the prevalence of egg-shaped objects and symbolism in multiple cultures
episode 7: dealt with the myths and history-keeping of the Australian aborigine people
episode 8: dealt with the concept of nine-member pantheons of gods, whether they could be aliens, and how they would deal with humanity
episode 9: dealt with potential UFO encounters in China
episode 10: dealt with the possibility that homo sapiens evolved in parallel with other variants that didn't survive
episode 11: dealt with the possibility that the moon is hollow and/or a spaceship of some kind
episode 12: dealt with potential UFO encounters in the Soviet Union
episode 13: dealt with supposed happenings at Roswell and the Area 51 secrets - and their analogues in other countries
episode 14: dealt with stories of alien abductees, and patterns among them
episode 15: dealt with Hindu myths and the similarities to some aspects of aliens

acting: The narration is strong and consistent, and the interviews are usually interesting and entertaining.

final word: This is interesting material, although they often present it in a rapid-fire way that gives the viewer little time to think about what they heard before moving forward. They also tend to start sentences with "what if" and end them stating that something is a fact, and then move on quickly. I can see how this approach will overwhelm weaker minds and make believers out of them...and yet, some of what's said has merit or is at least interesting, if you look at the evidence and think about it rationally.
