April Fools Day

release year: 1986
genre: drama/horror
viewing setting: home DVD, 6/9/04

synopsis: A college girl invites various friends to spend the weekend at her secluded island mansion, but someone's playing all kinds of pranks, and they eventually turn lethal.

impressions: Given the lack of blood and gore, it seemed almost like a drama, not a horror movie. However, the characters had a tendency to randomly emit funny or corny lines, so it was easy to watch. There's a twist at the end which changes the course of this movie, but any given viewer will have to decide for him/herself if it all makes sense.

the "hey, haven't I seen that girl somewhere else?" factor: The girl who plays Kit is also the lone survivor from Friday the 13th, part 2.

something this movie has that no other movie has: a guy getting his head crushed between a boat and a pier

acting: Good enough for this sort of movie.

final word: Decent horror flick, probably only needs to be watched once.
