The A-Team: The Taxicab Wars

episode number: season 2, episode 6 (1984)
viewing setting: home DVD, 6/4/05

episode synopsis: The team helps a small taxicab company fight back against a big one that wants a monopoly on the taxi business.

impressions: Decent episode, but it felt rushed at times. The ending, in particular, seemed off-pace and contained logic holes (why would the bad guys play chicken with a tank? why would the police just assume that the bad guys were guilty, without hard evidence?)

notable guest star: This one's jam-packed with guest stars. Michael Ironside is the evil cab honcho. Ernie Hudson is the good cab company honcho. Brion James is an evil henchman. Donald Gibb (the big guy who played Ogre in Revenge of the Nerds and Ray in Bloodsport is another evil henchman.

what the team builds in this episode: an armor-plated cab...zzz...

Hannibal wisecrack highlight: besides stealing cabs from the evil company, he takes the fight right into the bad guy's backyard and threatens him there

B.A. toughness highlight: picks up the gigantic evil henchman and throws him over a car

Murdock insanity highlight: he creates Sockii, a hand puppet, and carries on long conversations with it

Face scam highlight: strikes up romance with a female cabbie despite not even talking to her beforehand

Amy usefulness highlight: becomes the team's dispatcher when they take their taxicabs to war
