The A-Team: Labor Pains

episode number: season 2, episode 7 (1984)
viewing setting: home DVD, 6/8/05

episode synopsis: The team helps some crop-pickers organize a union to stand up to an evil landowner.

impressions: This one was okay, but again, the solution the team made wasn't the best. So the union was formed and legally accepted. So what? This isn't going to stop a guy who sends out men with guns to get what he wants. A grenade in the main bad guy's mouth, while all of the other bad guys get to watch...now THAT would have spared the poor victimized workers further misery. One thing I liked was how the team just stumbled upon this mission and took it for free while just passing through town.

notable guest star: Charles Napier (sneering semi-bad guy from many movies) is the right-hand man of the evil landowner.

what the team builds in this episode: A cabbage cannon. I'm not kidding. This thing takes ammo, err, cabbage heads in a hopper and fires them out with enough force to knock bad guys down.

Hannibal wisecrack highlight: In addition to some good tough-guy lines the first time he runs into the goons, he also decides to take all the catered food from the bad guy's picnic and give it to the hungry workers.

B.A. toughness highlight: almost singlehandedly beats all the goons in the general store

Murdock insanity highlight: uses a Oujii board to get answers about things

Face scam highlight: talks a farmer out of his farm equipment

Amy usefulness highlight: nothing, really - she just helps others with their tasks
