The A-Team: Curtain Call

episode number: season 2, episode 22 (1984)
viewing setting: home DVD, 7/19/05

episode synopsis: Murdock takes a bullet and is close to death, and the others must outwit Decker and his troops in order to get medical supplies and save Murdock's life.

impressions: This one was pretty good; it put the team in a tough situation and was a welcome change of pace from the normal basic plot. There were plenty of flashbacks to Murdock's highlights from other episodes. One gripe: Murdock gets shot at the beginning, by a defeated bad guy who had a concealed gun. I'd think that Hannibal would have executed the guy, but then, I often forget that these seasoned soldiers no longer kill people. Hell, if they did, there wouldn't be a weekly series!

notable guest star: None.

what the team builds in this episode: Nothing.

Hannibal wisecrack highlight: Nothing, really, though he does plot an escape from a situation which I truly thought inescapable.

B.A. toughness highlight: None, but he worries about Murdock, which is a change from the norm.

Murdock insanity highlight: At the end, in the VA hospital, he acts completely crazy in front of Colonel Decker.

Face scam highlight: Convinces two hunters that there's a wild bear out there, worth $10,000 if caught, which allows the others to take Murdock to the cabin to hide out.

Tawnia usefulness highlight: Hands Hannibal some bandages while he's checking Murdock's wound.
