The A-Team: The Island

episode synopsis: The team heads to a sovereign island to challenge the mercenaries who've taken up residence there.

impressions: This one was surprisingly entertaining and I'm not sure why. Possible reasons: underlying military theme, ultra-cheesy villain with a metal hand, the return (albeit briefly) of Colonel Decker, cute but stupid island woman Kalani (who really thinks that if she betrays the team, the bad guys will let her people go.)

notable guest star: Sonny Landham, whose finest role was the hulking Indian tracker in Predator, is the right-hand-bad-guy here and is far more intimidating than the main bad guy.

what the team builds in this episode: Nothing, but they get a 40-year-old tank running again so they can use it to attack the bad guys.

Hannibal wisecrack highlight: Infiltrates the bad guys' fortress, threatens them, shoots the place up...and then informs them that he'll be back tomorrow to finish the job.

B.A. toughness highlight: None that I could find.

Murdock insanity highlight: Takes an interest in the local fauna, especially when he finds a baby crocodile.

Face scam highlight: Pretends to be a drunken millionaire playboy who washed up on the island.
