The A-Team: The Big Squeeze

episode number: season 3, episode 14 (1985)
viewing setting: home DVD, 2/14/06

episode synopsis: The team helps an old friend whose Italian restaurant (and many others) are being terrorized by a loan shark.

impressions: This one was okay, though a prime example of why half-assed tactics won't work on really bad bad guys 99% of the time. The bad guy's demise, more than most of them on this show, was very clearly a result of his own stupidity - he didn't know when to ease up with his loan-shark victims. There was a cool scene at the end where Hannibal unleashed the fury of an M60, though sadly, he didn't come close to hitting a single bad guy.

notable guest star: Wings Hauser is the loan shak with very little patience, and Marshall Teague (who played an evil martial-arts-using henchman in Road House) is a more sensible evil henchman here.

what the team builds in this episode: An entire Irish pub (though at least they do it at the beginning instead of in the last 6 minutes.)

Hannibal wisecrack highlight: Puts the bad guy in a coffin and drops him off at the mansion of the bigger bad guy; also has a cool plan to film all the bad guys to gather evidence.

B.A. toughness highlight: Talks trash to Murdock a lot.

Murdock insanity highlight: Talks about restaurant supplies in some weird accent.

Face scam highlight: None, though he hits on the Italian restaurant owner's pretty daughter.
