The A-Team: Knights of the Road

episode number: season 3, episode 19 (1985)
viewing setting: home DVD, 2/19/06

episode synopsis: The team helps a towing company that's being pressured to sell to a larger one.

impressions: As usual lately, there's a bigger plot going on - these cases are seldom a matter of a big bad company simply trying to put a little one out of business. Funny parts include Murdock painting little red towtrucks on his wrecker after each "kill", Murdock being on his own in Mexico and later having to rescue the others, an action-packed ending, Face getting repeatedly shot down by the good towing company's owner's daughter. Also notable were two little things that some viewers might miss: 1) when they're cleaning up the old truck, someone finds a bird nest with eggs, and gently sets it aside and 2) B.A. puts a little gold bulldog as the hood ornament for that truck before they drive it into battle.

notable guest star: Don Stroud, who's played a lot of bad guy roles, is the owner of the evil towing company here..

what the team builds in this episode: Armored towtrucks, and later, a super-armored one for the final battle.

Hannibal wisecrack highlight: Shoots up the main bad guy's mansion, then drops off his crushed car.

B.A. toughness highlight: None.

Murdock insanity highlight: Decides that he's a "Knight of the Road", mixing chivalry and an English accent with the towing job.

Face scam highlight: Distracts a particularly dumb bad guy while the rest of the team plants bugs in their radios.
