The A-Team: Bounty

episode number: season 3, episode 21 (1985)
viewing setting: home DVD, 2/21/06

episode synopsis: Murdock is kidnapped by bounty hunters who want the team, and the other three must find and rescue him while avoiding Decker and his MPs.

impressions: This one was pretty entertaining; it immediately put the team in an unusual situation where they had little time to plan or build anything. It also put Murdock in a tough situation where he had to fend for himself...and then set him up with a love interest. Adding to the bounty hunter problem was Decker, who used this chance to try and catch the team. Some goofy moments included B.A. jumping his van over a ravine which the smaller, faster Army cars refused to try. A note on the bounty hunters in this episode: they were law-breaking, civilian-threatening, murderous scum who should have been put down at the first opportunity.

notable guest star: Kelly, the young woman who helps Murdock, was played by Wendy Fulton, who is Dwight Schultz' wife in real life.

what the team builds in this episode: Amazingly enough, at the end of the episode, when they have less than an hour to meet the bad guys or lose a hostage, they build and mount a swiveling machine-gun in the front of the van.

Hannibal wisecrack highlight: None.

B.A. toughness highlight: Nothing really, but he does really seem to worry about the missing Murdock.

Murdock insanity highlight: Makes inane comments to the guys who are kidnapping him./span>

Face scam highlight: Cons a phone operator out of her office so he can get on the computer and track a phone number.
