The A-Team: Incident at Crystal Lake

episode number: season 3, episode 24 (1985)
viewing setting: home DVD, 2/24/06

episode synopsis: The team heads to a remote area for vacation, but ends up running afoul of bank robbers as well as Colonel Decker.

impressions: This one was different...no mission, just the guys trying to get away from it all...and failing. Interesting parts included Decker setting a trap, two distinct groups of foes, Decker and his second in command (Crane, played diligently by Carl Franklin in more than a dozen episodes) seeing some action against the robbers. Also, Hannibal had a good line after someone was shot and survived thanks to a bulletproof vest: "We double-checked it this morning." (the same vest had been used earlier to draw gunfire.)

notable guest star: Robert Tessier, who was a bad guy in a previous episode, is a mute bad guy in this one.

what the team builds in this episode: Additional armor for the armored car.

Hannibal wisecrack highlight: Does a great bluff on the robbers, later smarts off to Decker after being captured.

B.A. toughness highlight: Lifts a giant metal scoop by himself, also wakes up in the middle of the fight and decks the toughest bad guy.

Murdock insanity highlight: Thinks he's a fisherman, also carries a mannequin around to accompany him on his fishing trips.

Face scam highlight: None, though he gets caught in Decker's trap at the beginning thanks to his lust for any girl with a paid of tanned legs.
