The A-Team: The Theory of Revolution

episode number: season 5, episode 5 (1986)
viewing setting: home DVD, 11/17/13

episode synopsis: The team heads to a small island to rescue three captured Americans, but ends up aiding revolutionaries to overthrow the dictator.

impressions: Now this is more like it...well, at least as far as a Tv show in the mid-1980s could get. There was a lot of fighting, and even an offscreen casualty. I also have to add that two different times, the team waited, guns in hand, when a split-second later one of their allies could have been executed. Actual soliders...would not have waited. I laughed out loud several times during this episode - there were some good one-liners and random comments. And the party the guys were having at their mansion in the beginning was classic.

notable guest stars: Successful voice actor and all-around cutie Tasia Valenza played Bonita, ally of the revolutionaries and would-be-paramour of Frankie.

what the team builds in this episode: Nothing.

Hannibal wisecrack highlight: Repeatedly reminds Stockwell that he, not Stockwell, is in charge of the team.

B.A. toughness highlight: Rescues the team from bad guys.

Murdock insanity highlight: Thinks he's a "Bison" scout leader and gives out advice and awards accordingly.

Face scam highlight: Gets captured on purpose so he can find out where the prisoners are being kept.

Frankie special effects highlight: Launches a climbing net over the wall, sets off many explosives during the crucial final battle.
