The A-Team: The Spy Who Mugged Me

episode number: season 5, episode 11 (1986)
viewing setting: home DVD, 11/19/13

episode synopsis: Murdock becomes a James Bond-like hero while the team is on a mission to Europe.

impressions: This was a good one; although a clear homage to Bond movies, it had a lot of humor, drama, and action typical of those. I liked it. Dwight Schultz really got into this identity for Murdock - he even sounded like Sean Connery!

notable guest stars: Professor Toru Tanaka was the burly henchman. Miss Connecticut 1977 Karen Kopins was the bad guy's woman.

what the team builds in this episode: Nothing.

Hannibal wisecrack highlight: Cackles with glee as the team discusses Murdock using Stockwell's money for gambling.

B.A. toughness highlight: Fights Professor Tanaka and throws him overboard.

Murdock insanity highlight: None, but he channels Sean Connery's 007 really, really well.

Face scam highlight: None, but he gets agitated when Murdock gets picked for this assignment, and moreso when he's locked outside in the rain while Murdock pursues romantic endeavors with the hot chick.

Frankie special effects highlight: Causes lights to go out, disables an alarm system, and blows a safe.
