An American Werewolf in Paris

release year: 1997
genre: horror/comedy
viewing setting: theater, 12/26/97
what I expected: a funny, loose sequel
what I got: pretty much that

synopsis: Andy and his two friends have come to Paris to enjoy fine food, wine, and women. However, they get more than they bargained for when Andy saves a suicidal young woman who has ties to a band of murderous werewolves.

impressions: This was about the same sort of thing as American Werewolf in London with different people and events. It had some good horror moments, some good comedy moments, and some good special effects. The viewing experience was dimmed somewhat by the fact that every row in the theater contained at least one child under the age of 10. Furthermore, many of these children's parents seemed to think that the movie was really happening. It was pretty bad - I almost walked out due to these distractions.

acting: Fine.

final word: Pretty good horror/comedy; if you liked the original movie, you should see this one.

rating: C
