Batman and Robin

release year: 1997
genre: action/adventure
viewing setting: theater, 6/21/97
what I expected: cheese
what I got: overly holey and bad cheese

synopsis: Batman and his trusty sidekick Robin are back, this time to battle Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy. Batgirl shows up too.

impressions: This was the worst one yet - complete foolishness. It was never meant to be taken seriously at all; I thought of it in the same way I thought of Mars Attacks, except that this one was watchable.

acting: George Clooney did okay as Batman, likewise Chris O'Donnell as Robin. Alicia Silverstone was a goofy-looking and -acting Batgirl. Arnold made a campy, wisecracking Mr. Freeze. The most charismatic character was Uma Thurman's Poison Ivy, but even her oozing sexuality couldn't save this movie.

final word: Kids may like it, or even love it, but I'm not a kid anymore.

rating: D
