Brooklyn Nine-Nine, season 1 (22 episodes)

release year: 2013-2014
genre: TV comedy series
viewing setting: home Bluray, 3/12-25/2022

synopsis: This series follows the misadventures of a team of detectives in Brooklyn.

impressions: This is fairly entertaining, and fleshes out the characters so that you care about them (and laugh with them.) There are occasional forays into the world outside the police station, and overall they manage to have every episode be meaningful despite being only ~25 minutes.

acting: Andy Samberg is the main guy, who's funny and goofy. Stephanie Beatriz is a tough, perpetually angry detective. Terry Crews is their sergeant. Melissa Fumero is an eager, quirky member of the team. Joe Lo Truglio is a slightly weird one. Chelsea Peretti is an annoying civilian member. Andre Braugher is the serious, usually-unreadable captain. Dirk Blocker and Joel Miller are the weird older guys on the squad.

final word: Good light police comedy show; I'm glad I found it.
