Buddha's Fist
release year: 1980genre: Hong Kong martial artsviewing setting: home DVD, 6/22/99what I expected: lots of rapid-fire actionwhat I got: that, with a minimal plot
synopsis: Murder and plotting mar a young man's return to his hometown.
impressions: This had a lot of action, and high-quality action - much superior to the Hollywood action scenes we usually see. Still, I don't really care for movies like this, because they tend to be too lighthearted (lightheaded) for my tastes.
acting: Decent, though it was all subtitled for those of us who don't know any Eastern languages.
the good: Great, realistic martial arts scenes.
the bad: Confusing plot, slow parts.
final word: Worth seeing if you like this genre.
rating: C
