Bullet To The Head

Kwon: "I can't let you go on a killing spree!"
Jimmy: "Yeah, well, it's gonna get worse."

release year: 2012
genre: action
viewing setting: home Bluray 9/21/22 and 12/4/18 and 6/15/14

synopsis: After a hitman is betrayed and his partner killed, he goes about getting some revenge.

impressions: This one got bad reviews, but I liked it, bearing in mind of course what it was: a violent revenge story. There was a complex chain of villains, a couple tangential good guys you could sympathize with, and a main hero who tended to shoot people first and ask questions later.

something this movie has that no other movie has: A final fight with fire axes. It was the end of Streets of Fire all over again, except with axes not sledgehammers...hmm, same director!

acting: Stallone is old, tattooed, but still ripped here. Sung Kang is a somewhat naive cop who ends up allied with Stallone's hitman. Jason Momoa is a hulking evil mercenary. Jon Seda, Christian Slater, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje are the bad guys.

final word: Good, violent action.
