Cerberus

release year: 2005
genre: mythical monster
viewing setting: home DVD, 9/13/07

synopsis: A bad guy's hunt for a sword that makes him invincible accidentally unleashes a mythical three-headed killer dog upon the surrounding area, and it's up to the good guys to recover the sword and deal with the beast.

impressions: This was decent; the acting was good, the monster looked okay, and there was plenty of violence/bloodshed. The monster didn't get enough screen time until late in the movie, and its origin was mythical, which was a good excuse for it to be bulletproof. The human characters even get to go on a little bit of tomb raiding.

something this movie has that no other movie has: A three-headed dog running wild.

acting: Greg Evigan really hams it up as the evil mercenary. Sebastian Spence is the good-guy counterpart who has a history with the bad guy, and Emmanuelle Vaugier is the historian and female protagonist.

final word: Decent direct-to-video monster movie, worth watching.
