Code of Silence

"If I want your opinion, I'll beat it out of you."   - Cusack

release year: 1985
genre: drama/action
viewing setting: home Bluray 8/5/22

synopsis: A tough police sergeant must deal with an impending gang war in addition to corruption within the ranks.

impressions: This was a solid polica drama/action vehicle which happened to feature Chuck Norris. He's a take-no-shit cop who says what he thinks and means what he says. This was a good look into police politics - and the situation could happen anywhere, with any group, really.

acting: This was one of Chuck's stronger roles (if you take fists and feet out of the equation.) He really did a great job. Dennis Farina is his loyal partner. Joseph Kosala is his new, younger partner. Henry Silva is the leering, sneering bad guy. Ralph Foody is the alcoholic, lying cop. The Prowler, an armored, machine-gun-firing police robot, appears as itself.

final word: Good police drama, and one of Chuck's best drama/acting roles for sure.
