impressions: It sounds so silly...getting trapped underneath your house, with rising floodwaters and alligators. How could it happen? This movie puts it all together for you. It's claustrophobic, it's tense, and the dangers feel real. Fun.

acting: Kaya Scodelario is the college student who happens to be a competitive swimmer (which later comes in handy.) Barry Pepper is her tough old dad. Multiple large alligators appear as themselves.

final word: Good, simple, realistic, atmospheric monster movie.
