The Crazies

release year: 2010
genre: horror/drama
viewing setting: home DVD, 7/4/10

synopsis: A small town's residents are transformed into homicidal maniacs by a government experiment gone bad, and the few unaffected people must fight to survive.

impressions: This was good and creepy. There was a lot of suspense, good acting, the "government is evil" factor, and a lot of bloodshed.

something this movie has that no other movie has: A maniac with a pitchfork loose in a room full of people strapped down to beds.

acting: Timothy Olyphant and Radha Mitchell are the cop-and-doctor couple at the core of the story. Joe Anderson is a deputy, and Danielle Panabaker is a semi-hysterical fellow survivor.

final word: Good scary semi-horror, worth seeing.
