Dead Men Can't Dance

release year: 1997 (direct to video)
genre: action/drama
viewing setting: home laserdisc, 7/21/97
what I expected: no idea
what I got: a genuinely bad film

synopsis: This is a military movie that has something to do with a female Army officer learning to command from the field, rather than co-ordinate from afar. To do this, of course, she must first complete Army Ranger training, which has typically been for men only.

impressions: It had numerous and glaring implausibilities, which can be summed up by saying that the characters in this movie would never actually make it as Army Rangers.

acting: Pretty average. A lot of Highlander fans will go out and rent this because their show's star, Adrian Paul, is in it - but they will be disappointed (he has almost no screen time, and almost no lines.) Michael Biehn (Aliens, Terminator) is also in it, and at least he has some semblance of a role.

final word: Don't waste your time.

rating: D
