Deadpool

Ajax: "One thing that never survives this place is a sense of humor."
Wade: "We'll see about that."

release year: 2016
genre: superhero comedy/action
viewing setting: home Bluray 10/23/19 and 2/26/17 and 5/28/16 and 5/23/16 and 5/22/16

synopsis: After gaining superpowers at the expense of a scarred face and body, a wisecracking mercenary seeks revenge.

impressions: This was an entirely different (and bold) kind of superhero movie. That much was obvious during the opening credits, and it continued along that path: constant adult jokes and complete irreverence - while also racking up a high body count with tons of blood and gore. It was different, but highly entertaining as long as you're not offended by the humor.

acting: Ryan Reynolds owns this movie, as the never-serious deadly assassin. Morena Baccarin is his scrappy, smartass girlfriend. Ed Skrein and Gina Carano are the villains. Stefan Kapicic and Andre Tricoteux were the voice and body of ally Colossus, while Brianna Hildebrand was Colossus' trainee.

final word: Different, but highly entertaining; I watched it twice in a 24-hour span, and that's never happened before with any movie.
