Enlisted (season 1)

release year: 2014
genre: military comedy (TV, 13 episodes)
viewing setting: home streaming 10/2-16/22

synopsis: A war hero is reassigned to non-combat duties and put in charge of a bunch of misfits.

impressions: It doesn't take the military too seriously, but it grew on me and became more entertaining. These soldiers are the ones who stay behind and take care of the base and the families with deployed members. Despite various misadventures and challenges, the group quickly bonds and begins to help one another.

acting: Geoff Stults is the successful, sometimes-egotistical sergeant. His brothers are Chris Lowell (the more serious one) and Parker Young (the somewhat dim one.) Angelique Cabral is the sergeant who's often a rival. Keith David is their superior officer. Tania Gunadi is a small but fiesty private. There are several others who each have their quirks.

final word: Reasonably funny military comedy/drama.
