synopsis: The Equalizer is trying to chill in a small Italian town, but ends up confronting their local Mafia.

impressions: This third film in the series takes place entirely in Italy. It was a little less direct - it took him longer to activate - but when he did, he was fast and brutal. It was good, if a bit slower and more odd at times.

acting: Denzel Washington is back, and as lethal as ever; one gets the sense that he'd like to just settle down in the small town. Dakota Fanning is a CIA agent who puts together the clues about a wide-ranging plot. Remo Girone is an old doctor who helps. Two Andreas - Dodero and Scarduzio - are mob brothers who never imagined that one man could cause them so much trouble. Gaia Scodellaro is a local woman who shows an interest in the main character. Eugenio Mastrandrea is a local cop who is menaced by the bad guys.

final word: Not as straightforward as the first two, but worthy nevertheless.
