Feast

release year: 2005
genre: horror
viewing setting: home DVD, 9/21/07

synopsis: An assortment of people in a remote tavern are assaulted by a family of monsters.

impressions: This was a quirky variant of the "siege" type horror movie. It had some interesting directorial touches, such as an early captioned introduction of each character, and one-liners or situational comments that clearly injected some humor into the gore-fest. The monsters weren't seen often (or clearly) which led to speculation about what they were, even after the movie ended.

something this movie has that no other movie has: Someone sticking their entire _arm_ down a monster's throat while choking it to death.

acting: There was no one clear protagonist - everybody got equal screen time, and it was always possible that any of them could get killed.

final word: Unusual but entertaining siege horror movie.
