Final Destination

release year: 2000
genre: suspense
viewing setting: home DVD, 8/11/06

synopsis: Seven people happen to get off of a plane before it explodes, thus cheating Death...but the grim reaper doesn't give up that easily.

impressions: It was pretty good, with some cool concepts and a lot of surprises and shocks. There was some stupidity from the main hero (the one with the vision that saves himself and the others) and a couple of other characters, but when Death's breathing down your back, I guess you have the right to act stupid. The ending kind of brought up the big overall problem: what if Death never gives up in a situation like this?

something this movie has that no other movie has: A bus coming out of nowhere to pulverize someone.

acting: Dewon Sawa is the main guy, the one who had the vision and then has to try and put everything together. Ali Larter is the loner chick who ends up as his main believer.

final word: Good suspense drama.
