Four Rooms
release year: 1996genre: comedyviewing setting: home laserdisc, 12/21/97what I expected: something fairly amusingwhat I got: a mix of four odd tales
synopsis: Four different zany stories have one thing in common: they all involve a goofy bellboy in a hotel.
impressions: This was entertaining. The first act is about some witches trying to bring their goddess back; all they need is a man's semen. The second act involves a married couple and bondage games, and was pointless. The third (and best, in my opinion) act has the bellboy watching a gangster's obnoxious kids. The fourth deals with some very drunk celebrities who are playing a dangerous game. All in all, a decent comedy. Robert Rodriguez directed the third segment, and Quentin Tarantino directed the fourth.
acting: I actually didn't like Tim Roth's performance as the bellboy - he was too goofy. A lot of people have minor but memorable roles here.
final word: Amusing.
