Friday the 13th Vengeance 2: Bloodlines

release year: 2022
genre: horror
viewing setting: home streaming 9/18/25

synopsis: After the events of the last one, Jason and his revenge-minded father are still running around killing people and plotting bad things.

impressions: A direct sequel to the last film, this one deals with two things: Jason's father's hunt for Tommy Jarvis so he can somehow use him to bring back his long-dead wife...and Jason wandering around killing everyone he meets. As before, there are a ton of victims, with the highlight being a roadblock that Jason just shows up at. One minor thing: a lot of people this time seemed to have just forgotten that Jason was a zombie and couldn't be slowed down (much less killed) by weapons or gunfire.

acting: There are literally a couple dozen small but memorable characters here (almost all of whom don't survive..) Of note, Thom Matthews appears late in the game reprising his original role from part 6.

final word: Entertaining and gory, with many homages to the official movies.
