The Glimmer Man

release year: 1996
genre: action/drama
viewing setting: home laserdisc, 11/9/97
what I expected: no expectations (not a criticism, just a fact)
what I got: Pretty tight action/murder mystery with sinister overtones.

synopsis: A serial killer is murdering whole families, but it may just be a cover-up for something else. Two cops with little in common are partnered with each other to solve the case.

impressions: As I said, this was pretty tight in terms of plot. It had some good action moments, too. The bad guys could have been developed a wee bit more, but since Seagal tends to kill them upon first contact, they mostly remained characterless.

acting: Seagal did okay, Keenan Ivory Wayans did well. No one else registered.

final word: Fairly entertaining, as a crime drama with bits of good fighting.

rating: C+
