synopsis: A group of misfits (competent misfits) is thrown together and ends up trying to save a planet from destruction by an evil alien.

impressions: This was a great mix of action, sci-fi elements, and humor. Each of the characters had their skills, as well as their quirks. Considering that I knew _nothing_ about these characters or the original comic before seeing this movie, I felt that everything made sense and I had a good time watching it.

acting: Chris Pratt is the leader, who's from 1980s Earth and has a humorous side. Zoe Saldana is a blue-skinned alien assassin. Dave Bautista is an alien warrior. Vin Diesel is the voice of a huge, tree-like alien. Bradley Cooper is the voice of a tiny but fiesty alien raccoon mercenary. Michael Rooker is an alien pirate bandit.

final word: Great entertaining comic-book movie from a comic that few people are familiar with.
