Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay

release year: 2008
genre: comedy
viewing setting: home DVD, 8/8/2008

synopsis: En route to Amsterdam to find Harold's crush, the guys get sidetracked and mistaken for terrorists, and end up chased all over the place by the authorities.

impressions: It was funny, and sometimes over-the-top gross. The movie definitely poked fun at the whole post-9/11 mentality, which is going to anger some people. Part of the plot focuses on Kumar's mission to regain his lost girlfriend from a preppy jerk she's engaged to, and the ever-present "evil Neil Partick Harris" returns to generate more crazy laughs.

something this movie has that no other movie has: A stoner "W"...

acting: Like many comedy movie series, there's really not much new here to differentiate this from the first movie.

final word: Good comedy, not as strong or original as the first, which you should watch before watching this sequel.
