synopsis: Harry and his two best friends go off in search of a means to stop Voldemort, while he consolidates his power by launching attacks and killing foes.

impressions: For the first time, Hogwarts isn't the primary setting, as Harry, Hermione, and Ron wander the world trying to find Horcruxes. Meanwhile, evil runs wild, and even the Ministry of Magic has been taken over by corrupt (and basically racist) people. The action shifts all over the place - various locations, the Ministry of Magic, Hogwarts - and it's all a setup for the eighth and final movie in which the climactic final battle will take place.

acting: Just about everyone - the main cast, the supporting allies and enemies, slain people via flashbacks, and characters we haven't seen for a couple of movies - is in this one..

final word: Solid penultimate chapter in this saga.
