synopsis: A mysterious, powerful evil orb influences a variety of events across time and space.

impressions: This was one of those lost treasures of the early 1980s cable era, very tough to find for a while until it finally got an official release on DVD. It's a series of short stories, each by a different writer and artist, that are linked via the intelligent and evil Loc-Nar artifact. There's everything here, from sword-and-sorcery to science fiction to horror to comedy.

acting: It's all animated, but John Candy stands out as the voice of the skinny weakling as well as the musclebound hero that he becomes.

final word: Unusual but fun animation from a past era.
