The Hitman's Bodyguard

"See, if I'm paying Triple-A rates, then I'm looking for that full service shit, you know what I'm saying? The extra 'A' stands for 'ass', yours, between mine and a bullet."   - Darius Kincaid

release year: 2017
genre: action/comedy
viewing setting: home Bluray 2/7/18

synopsis: A professional bodyguard who's fallen from grace ends up protecting his arch-enemy.

impressions: It moved along pretty well, and had plenty of violent action and snappy comedy lines. The two leads are both funny guys and they work well together here. Also, the film takes place in a variety of European locations, which provides some nice scenery.

acting: Ryan Reynolds is the troubled bodyguard who basically has to confront all of his problems in one big adventure. Elodie Yung is his ex, who's also an Interpol agent. Samuel Jackson is his usual brash, profane self. Salma Kayek is his estranged wife. Gary Oldman is the dictator who doesn't want anyone to testify against him.

final word: Definitely entertaining.
