The Killer Elite

release year: 2011
genre: action/drama
viewing setting: home DVD, 4/2/12

synopsis: A number of different mercenaries are involved in a complicated series of schemes and revenge.

impressions: Good, but complex...and it had the "British effect" where much of it is set there, with characters and dialogue from there. That's okay, but without subtitles, it's difficult to follow sometimes if you're not from there. Anyway, there is a lot of fighting and gunplay, as well as a shadowy group that does shadowy things.

acting: Jason Statham is the main guy, and Robert De Niro is his mentor who he helps out of trouble. Clive Owen is the main opposing force. Dominic Purcell is a somewhat-unhinged mercenary.

final word: Good, but complicated and thus tedious at times.
