Kissology, volume 2

release year: 2007
genre: documentary/concert
viewing setting: home Bluray 11/14-19/22

synopsis: This collection of KISS concert and other footage spans 1978-1991.

impressions: This was volume two of the series, spanning 1978-1991 (a fairly wide range in the history of KISS.) There were a couple of short promo spots from the late 1970s, the horrible movie they made around that time, another promo, a music video, a short interview with Peter Criss after he left the band...and then a 17-song live set from Australia in 1980, 7 songs from Rio in 1983, a couple from Lisbon in 1983, 5 from Philadelphia in 1987, and then a 21 (!) song show from Detroit in 1990. The set closes out with a couple more interview/footage bits. All in all, it's almost seven hours of material, from a different but more refined period in the band's career.

final word: Essential KISS live footage collection from their second era.
