impressions: Despite a goofy-looking monster suit, I liked this one. Why? Probably because it's got what I most remember from watching these episodes as a kid: a monster. Not some legend, not a curse, not something intangible...but rather, a real live monster that walks and stalks and kills victims. Of course, the basic plot is copied from the Star Trek episode Devil in the Dark, and the viewer is shown this almost immediately. Other notables: monster that breaks down walls and then inexplicably wanders away, female police lieutenant who takes no crap from Kolchak, devious Kolchak plot to infiltrate underground bunker by being shipped into the place inside a crate.
