L.A. Confidential

release year: 1997
genre: film noir
viewing setting: theater, 3/19/98
what I expected: didn't know
what I got: a complex film with some good twists

synopsis: This is a look into the lives of a number of cops and associates, showing how far each of them will go to do what's right...or wrong.

impressions: You definitely had to pay attention, else lose track of what was going on. It was well-scripted, well-acted, and a bit grim.

acting: Good on all accounts.

final word: Entertaining, if complex. A solid action drama.

rating: C+
