Live From Baghdad

release year: 2002
genre: drama/documentary
viewing setting: special internal CNN sneak preview, 11/26/02

synopsis: In 1991, as the Gulf War broke out, CNN had a live audio feed while other networks had nothing. This is the story of how it happened.

impressions: As a non-journalist working for CNN at the time of this writing, I truly _am_ unbiased. This movie is based on the book by the head producer who engineered the events that allowed the scoop coup to happen. It was definitely entertaining, though it makes me wonder if it's right that the reporting of a story becomes more important to those involved than the story itself.

things to watch for: When the bombing starts.

acting: Michael Keaton and Helena Bonham Carter did good jobs as the two leads, and they had a solid supporting cast.

final word: Interesting.
