Logan's Run

release year: 1976
genre: sci-fi
viewing setting: home laserdisc, 10/22/97
what I expected: dated sci-fi adventure
what I got: pretty much that

synopsis: In the future, people live inside a gigantic domed city, where every need and want is provided automatically. There's only one catch: when you turn 30, you have to die. Is there any escape from this society?

impressions: This had some slow parts, but it was fairly entertaining, and neat. It was also ahead of its time, and depicted a society that could really come about. For more information on this movie, look here.

acting: Michael York is the Sandman (cop) turned runner; Jenny Agutter is the runner who eventually falls in love with him. Others have minor roles, especially Farrah Fawcett-Majors, who plays a total ditz.

final word: Classic sci-fi, which shouldn't be forgotten.

rating: C+
