The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare
"You won't like them. They're all mad."
"They'll need to be."
release year: 2024
genre: action/adventure
viewing setting: theater, 5/14/24
synopsis: In World War II, a daring and unsanctioned mission aims to end the Nazis' rule over the oceans between England and America.
impressions: This was a modern telling of a Dirty Dozen type story, but with more violence and blood. These are guys who can casually dispatch the enemy without flinching at all...and boy do they. The body count here has to be well over a hundred. The mission is well-planned and moving along, right up until there are unexpected challenges and changes. The commandos have to think on their feet and come up with new plans to achieve the goal.
acting: Henry Cavill is the leader. Alan Ritchson is the lethal muscle. Eiza Gonzalez is the spy/seductress. Alex Pettyfer is the planner. Babs Olusanmokun is another agent who specilaizes in distractions. Danny Sapani is a local warlord who joins the mission. Cary Elwes is the general in charge back home. Til Schweiger is the evil Nazi commander.
final word: Great violent fun, reminded me of Inglorious Basterds and Sisu.
