synopsis: This is a 9-part made-for-the-web series based on the Mortal Kombat franchise. Each episode deals with the backstory of one or more characters.
impressions: This was quite entertaining - like a bunch of mini Mortal Kombat movies. Each one had a purpose and could be watched independent of others with different main characters. The acting, secial effects, and fighting are all good to great. Episode briefs:
(1) cops Sonya Blade and Jax track crime lord Kano (part 1)
(2) cops Sonya Blade and Jax track crime lord Kano (part 2)
(3) fallen action star Johnny Cage can't seem to catch a break
(4) Kitana and Mileena become the adopted daughters of the Emperor, Shao Kahn (part 1)
(5) Kitana and Mileena become the adopted daughters of the Emperor, Shao Kahn (part 2)

(8) the man who will eventurally become Scorpion sees his family and clan destroyed by rival Sub-Zero (part 1)

acting: There are a lot of parts here. Michael Jai White and Jeri Ryan are the most well-known cast members.
final word: Interesting expansion of what came before in this franchise.
