MLB: Awesome All-Stars
release year: 2004
genre: sports documentary
viewing setting: home DVD, 2/13/05
synopsis: This is a brief but footage-rich summary of the MLB All-Star game's history and best moments.
impressions: Pretty good for any baseball fan. I'd have preferred a more in-depth look at specific games, but that would have taken a bigger DVD set. They skimmed over anything negative (the 2002 game which ended in a tie, the 1970 game in which Pete Rose ended Ray Fosse's career with an overly-aggressive slide) and played up the good moments, which I guess is how it should be.
something this movie has that no other movie has: Alex Rodriguez being friendly to players from the Boston Red Sox.
acting: n/a, but the narration was pretty good
final word: Good compilation, but true baseball fans may wish for something with greater scope.
