Mr. And Mrs. Smith

John Smith: "Eddie. Focus, please. We got problems."
Eddie: "You got problems? Crack addicts got problems, my friend. You two are smoked."

release year: 2005
genre: action/adventure
viewing setting: home Bluray 12/2/19 and 1/5/18 and 9/18/15 and 2/15/15 and home DVD, 3/22/12 and 1/5/2006

synopsis: A seemingly ordinary couple learn the hard way that the other is an assassin for a rival organization.

impressions: This was damn good stuff. It's got bits of comedy but never steers clear of its main purpose - action and bloodletting - for long. As far as gunplay, knifeplay, hand-to-hand, and improvised combat goes, you can't ask for much more than this movie delivers. There's also the funny romance-under-duress bit, which leads to some plot twists.

something this movie has that no other movie has: A chase/gunfight in which the lead vehicle is a minivan.

acting: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie both do outstanding jobs as super-assassins. Vince Vaughn is okay as a friend/advisor to the Pitt character, but he seems incompetent as an assassin.

final word: Good mayhem tied together with a thin romantic plot.
