Mysterious Island

synopsis: A group of people escape a Civil War battle and crash-land on a remote island which holds many surprises.

impressions: This was the bonus movie that came along with Alien Shark and helped me feel less pain from that $9.99 Walmart purchase...a little less pain. This was okay, and injected some new ideas into the classic story...but it also had some stupid moments, and seemed to kill off characters fairly regularly. I thought the tie-in with the Bermuda Triangle was inspired.

acting: Gina holden is the main girl, and Lochlyn Munro the main guy. Most of the others did good jobs with stock roles.

final word: Interesting but low-budget version of this tale; worth seeing once.
