Never Hike Alone 2
release year: 2024
genre: horror
viewing setting: home streaming 4/17/25
synopsis: This is the meeting/conclusion of the previous two movies in this fan series.
impressions: This one connected the last two all together nicely...the hiker who lived, the other hiker who died, his doctor mother, Tommy Jarvis, the idiot sheriff who can't believe there's actually a masked killer roaming around...it all comes together before the halfway point. And THEN Jason shows up at the hospital! At that point, it's balls-out slasher action in the tradition of the old 1980s movies.
acting: Everyone from the other films is here. Thom Mathews is long-time survivor Tommy Jarvis, who's about the only one aware of what's really happening. Drew Leighty is the hiker who survived his encounter with Jason, and is now recovering. Anna Campbell is the doctor who's also a mom grieving the murder of her son, and proves useful. Vincent Guastaferro is the sheriff who refuses to accept that Jason exists. Director Vincente DiSanti also dons the overalls and hockey mask to play a serious, menacing Jason.
final word: Let's call this the fitting conclusion to this fan trilogy...unless Jason returns...
