A Nightmare on Elm Street part 6: Freddy's Dead

release year: 1991
genre: horror
viewing setting: home DVD, 10/20/99
what I expected: not much
what I got: not much

synopsis: Freddy reappears thanks to a blood relative that nobody knew about, his unknown child.

impressions: They'd run out of new ideas for this series after part 1, so they've been recycling ever since. This time, they tried a new tactic: 3D. Unfortunately, we didn't have any 3D glasses handy, so the movie sucked. We're sure that if we'd had those glasses, there would have been Oscar potential here.

acting: For a change, Robert Englund didn't ham it up too much. Everyone else turned in mediocre performances at best.

the good: When the credits finally rolled.

the bad: Complete lack of plot, quiet-to-loud sound effects, lack of nudity - all JUST LIKE ALL THE OTHER ONES!

most entertaining moment: Old gomer doing circles in his wheelchair.

final word: This movie was a complete and utter waste of time.

rating: D
